Advisory Council
The Advisory Council supports the long-term strategic quality and integrity of Altair Media’s work.
As a platform examining the systems shaping modern societies — from technological infrastructure and governance to societal transformation — Altair Media benefits from perspectives across multiple disciplines. The Advisory Council provides high-level guidance on emerging developments, research priorities and long-term challenges.
The Council operates in an advisory capacity only and does not exercise editorial control over publications or research outcomes.
Role of the Council
Members of the Advisory Council contribute by:
- providing strategic perspectives on emerging technological, economic and geopolitical developments
- identifying important questions and areas of inquiry for future research
- strengthening connections with academic, policy and research communities
- supporting the long-term mission and integrity of the platform
The council’s role is to broaden perspective rather than determine direction.
Independence Safeguards
To protect Altair Media’s independence, the Advisory Council:
- does not approve, edit or review publications
- does not influence research conclusions or editorial positions
- does not represent Altair Media publicly unless explicitly invited to do so
All editorial decisions remain the responsibility of Altair Media’s editorial leadership.
Composition
The Advisory Council brings together individuals with expertise in fields relevant to Altair Media’s mission, including:
- artificial intelligence and computer science
- European governance and geopolitics
- defence and security studies
- ethics and philosophy of technology
- innovation and research policy
Members may come from academia, research institutions, policy organisations and industry.
Founding Phase
The Advisory Council is currently being established.
Members will be announced as appointments are confirmed. During this founding phase, Altair Media consults informally with experts and researchers to help shape the platform’s long-term development.
Annual Advisory Note
The Advisory Council may periodically publish a short advisory reflection highlighting emerging trends, strategic risks and opportunities shaping Europe’s technological and geopolitical landscape.
These reflections provide additional perspective without influencing Altair Media’s independent editorial work.
